The third one -End Britain's oil addiction
As we know oil is one of the scarce resource are there in the world .So using more and more oil is already become a serious problem for the world . And there are conflicts happens very often in the Middle East it is always because the oil dependency. So don't need I to say how important oil is cause everyone knows it !
And with our increasingly technologies the amount of oil that be used is also increasing. But we know that use oil too much won't give us any good results .For example cars use the petrol and then produce pollution that's a negative effect in our society .So Some people think about to invent electric cars to save the resource and create a green job .That is the main idea of the solution .
Of course it needs a huge amount money to get this done . Its need thousands millions pounds I suppose .And this is just a part of make a country going without oil.So in my own view it is too difficult to do. And the opportunity cost can be everything for example the government will spend less money on health care . And also now the price of oil already quite high that could reduce some of the demand .And I the other option is use the big amount money to do with the result after using oil.For example try to deal with the pollution.
I am believe that stopping use oil is a good thing .But we cant live without oil .We eat oil and we use it in every where. But the electric cars is a good idea and it is a huge process as well .The government have to spend lots of money .And they may find more problems than now they have .
So I think the best way is we do not waste the scarcity resource ! But really be serious if one day we don't have enough oil to be use that's may be the only option to continue our lives.

Did you know that today there are something between 2000 and 3000 billions barrels of recoverable oil, in the world. Of this,, more than 1000 billion barrels exhausted now in 2009. Given that oil is a resource that it is a given amount of the consumer and the world something like 85 million barrels a day, we can everyone see that there is not that much again.
As the population continues to grow with something like 75 million people a year, will that be helping to put further pressure on the limited oil resources.
Therefore I think you should change your "I am believe that stopping use oil is a good thing." attitude.
A shortage of oil will lead to a global economic depression that is far more dramatic than today's financial crisis. As the supply of cheap oil are the basis for everything we do we risk a complete collapse of global industrial civilization within a few years.
I think that it is a very wise idea to switch from the use of oil to some of the more "green" energy sources. Purely because we need to think about our environment en the impact that pollution might have on it. So I agree with you on that one.
However, we have by far not reached the last drop of oil available on our lovely planet. The following link leads to an article that was published about two weeks ago. BP found a 'giant' oil source deep in the Gulf of Mexico. And even though it would be very time-consuming and expensive to dig for that oil source, if we really need to, we can! And as Fanny just said, there is still much more oil to use!
But again, why use oil if we could use infinitive energy sources such as the sun and the wind?
I think it is a very important topic that you wrote about! Good job!

Thank you very much about the detail link~ :) That's really helpful.
Nice post Si Yi...its really useful:)))
(buy for me lunch tomorrow:))))
Yeah, this post is really helpful. NICE JOB!)))
There is no easy way to switch from oil to other sources of energy because it will cost a lot(as u have said) plus oil is used not only as a petrol but in light industry as well. Most of the things that you can see in your room is made from the plasmas and so it is possible to say that they are also made from oil. I also suppose that if this country's government choses to restrict oil usage, this may also cause a lot of consequences to the economy that you haven't consider. It will definitely cause inflation and may cause foot shortages because the closest substitute of oil is fuel made from crops,so more fields will be used to produce fuels not food.
I totally agree with u ~SMBD~
I agree with your view, oil is indispensable things. Oil on our common humanity is also scarce resource, and if people are to transform the car, so that no oil is used for launch vehicle instead of electricity, it will be a big project, and it will be a huge overhead. In my opinion this project is not feasible.
